SJVC Alum Named MVC Freshman of the Year
Congratulations to SJVC Alum, Olivia Brand, who has been named Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year! The Valley's website states, "Brand, a force on the outside from the Missouri State Bears, ranks sixth in the league in kills per set - averaging 3.09 in Valley contests. She recorded double-digit kills in eight matches, including a season-high 22 against Illinois State on Sept. 16 - which were the most by a Missouri State freshman since 1994. She is the sixth Missouri State player to earn the conference's Freshman of the Year honor."
On January 17, Olivia was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the fall semester. Students on the AD Honor Roll achieved GPA's of 3.0 and above.
Emily Thater (SJVC 18s) Named to Prep Volleyball Class of 2013 Top 50 Recruits
Congratulations to Emily, one of the top 16 middles in the country! The annual list is determined by a panel of college coaches asked to determine the 50 players with the greatest potential to make a deep impact at the next level.
