  History
The Springfield Junior Volleyball Club was started in 1984 by Linda Dollar and the SMSU Staff as a means for area athletes to participate in an advanced program without having to travel to Kansas City or St. Louis.

  Purpose
The purpose of the club is to expand individual and team volleyball skills by providing off-season coaching and training experiences to members. These member athletes from rival schools come together into a team situation. They compete against other advanced teams from around Missouri and neighboring states. Involvement in this program improves one's ability to play school volleyball as well as increasing one's chances for college volleyball scholarships.

Philosophy Our program is basically developmental with everyone getting the opportunity to improve through practice. Tournament participation will vary depending upon which team one is on. Success is determined largely by the effort of each player. As the season progresses, our ultimate goal is to qualify a team for the national tournament. Another goal may be to have some teams go to a Festival type tournament after the season is over.

  Cost
The fee for the program is dependent upon coaches and tournaments selected. We will do various fundraisers as desired. The fee provides players uniforms consisting of two tees and a pair of shorts. It covers the cost of coaches' expenses, practice and tourney stipends, tournament entries, all USAV costs and sanction fees involved with the club, administrative costs such as office supplies and telephone, and athletic equipment, some replacement volleyballs, bags, carts, and various other athletic supplies.

  Media Guide
We will have a Media Guide printed with pictures and information about all of our coaches, players on each team, ads from local businesses supporting the girls, tournament results from the previous year, letters from coaches, and pictures from last season.

  Practice and Tournaments
Athletes are expected to attend practice and tournaments except for school conflicts. Conflicts with school teams should be minimal, but when a conflict occurs, the interscholastic team comes first.
